About the role
Benchling's Solution Consultant (SC) engages with large biotech customers to craft and demonstrate tailored solutions involving complex enterprise SaaS, interfacing with lab instruments and legacy systems. The role involves pre-sales leadership, technical expertise in biotech R&D, and collaboration with internal teams to influence product development and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Partner with account executives and leadership to create account and deal strategies.
- Manage organized discoveries to uncover customer needs and requirements.
- Craft solutions based on Benchling capabilities, industry best practices, and R&D functions.
- Present and demonstrate solutions persuasively, managing questions and objections.
- Engage with product management to provide insights and influence the product roadmap.
- Create reusable solutions, content, and training; mentor and support other SCs.
Qualifications
- Master’s in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemistry or similar Life Science field.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, preferably customer-facing.
- Experience with scientific/informatics software such as LIMS, ELN, etc.
- Experience in a lab or research setting, ideally in antibody discovery or engineering.
- Ability to model scientific data and craft solutions based on product knowledge and industry best practices.
- Understanding of research technology adopted by biopharma companies.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites 25-30%.
