About the role

Legal role supporting Benchling's EMEA operations with focus on commercial transactions, employment law, risk mitigation, and compliance. Based in/near London or Zurich.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the full lifecycle of commercial contracts for EMEA operations, including SaaS agreements, professional services, partner agreements, and security addendums.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to develop scalable contracting policies and training programs for sales teams.
  • Assess legal risks and provide guidance to stakeholders to facilitate deal completion.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders on European employment law matters, managing relationships with outside counsel.
  • Maintain knowledge of European privacy and data protection laws and advise on their implications for the business.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience, with at least 5 years in house focus on enterprise SaaS transactions.
  • Qualified attorney or solicitor (or EU equivalent) in an English-speaking jurisdiction.
  • Proven ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal advice.
  • Experience supporting sales activities in biotech, healthcare, or life sciences industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of European employment law and data privacy laws.
