About the role

Role focused on owning the entire data stack end-to-end, including ETLs, analytics, ML models, monitoring, and self-serve data products to support product, customer, and operational decisions at Model ML in London.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full data pipeline: Build and maintain Python-based ETLs and API integrations into Redshift; Manage orchestration via GitHub Actions; Ensure uptime, correctness, and monitoring across all pipelines.
  • Build and maintain the full analytics layer: Build dbt models; maintain core metrics, usage metrics, customer health signals, and financial KPIs; create a scalable semantic layer for LLMs to query.
  • Predictive analytics & ML: Ship production-ready models (e.g., churn prediction, usage-based forecasting, anomaly detection, upsell signals); monitor and automate downstream workflows from model outputs.
  • Self-serve data products: Build Looker dashboards; enable analytics self-serve; set up proactive alerting for breaks, spikes, drops, or trends.
  • AI-first development: Use AI coding tools daily; write clean code navigable by AI agents; contribute to internal tools and data products powering Model ML’s agents.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Collaborate with founders, engineering, product, and GTM; communicate insights and provide data-led recommendations; help define strategy around usage-based pricing, client analytics, product telemetry, and internal metrics.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background
  • 4+ years experience across full-stack data: ETL, modeling, analytics, predictive work
  • Strong Python (ETLs + analysis)
  • Strong SQL and dbt experience
  • Experience building from scratch at a startup (or strong desire to)
  • Comfortable using AI coding tools daily
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, tight timelines, shifting priorities
  • Excellent communication: able to explain business happenings clearly and quickly
