About the role

Designing AI-first, agentic product experiences inside Coda, focusing on intuitive interaction design and innovative interaction models to shape the future of AI-powered productivity tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design agentic document experiences including how AI agents operate, act proactively, seek guidance, and are understood by users.
  • Translate complex AI behaviors such as reasoning, memory, automation, and context into intuitive mental models and workflows.
  • Own end-to-end design quality from initial concepts to high-fidelity, consumer-grade execution.
  • Explore and invent new interaction paradigms beyond traditional text editing, such as agent prompts and multi-step workflows.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate rapidly to validate assumptions and improve user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to influence product strategy and development.
  • Contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment with open idea sharing and feedback.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of product design experience with impact on complex, system-driven products.
  • Proven ability to design clear, scalable, and delightful user experiences that simplify workflows.
  • Experience or deep curiosity in AI-powered and agentic products, including trust, explainability, and user control.
  • Portfolio demonstrating senior-level problem framing, interaction design, and quality execution.
  • Comfortable working end-to-end from early discovery to high-fidelity designs and prototypes.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, with strong collaboration and iteration skills.
  • Based in San Francisco with occasional travel.
