About the role

Security engineer to build systems and practices that keep the platform and customers' data safe. Hands-on engineering role focused on securing end-to-end infrastructure, enabling secure development, and shaping security thinking across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Application security: Securing the platform end-to-end, from APIs to real-time conversations and customer data
  • Access controls and authorization: Building RBAC, permissions models, and audit logging for enterprise customers
  • Security tooling and automation: Building infrastructure for vulnerability scanning, dependency auditing, secrets management, and automated detection
  • Own security across the stack and influence system architecture; collaborate with backend and infrastructure engineers to bake security into the platform from the start

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in security engineering with a strong software engineering foundation
  • Experience securing production systems handling sensitive data
  • Ability to write production-quality code and build security tooling/features
  • Explains security as an enabler and makes it easy for other engineers to do the right thing
  • Comfort across application, infrastructure, and cloud security
  • Interest in AI security challenges such as prompt injection and data leakage
