About the role

Senior leadership role to build and lead Databricks’ Field Engineering team focused on the Intelligence Community, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force, driving enterprise software, big data/analytics, data engineering, data science, data warehousing and generative AI efforts in collaboration with Sales and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Solutions Architect team for IC/DoW focusing on enterprise software, big data/analytics, data engineering, data science, data warehousing and generative AI.
  • Set vision and strategy with Sales Director to accelerate transformative outcomes for IC and DoW customers.
  • Hire, train, lead, and scale the Solutions Architect team in a high-growth environment.
  • Help customers achieve exceptional success with Databricks and deliver substantial business value.
  • Maintain a robust hiring pipeline at all times.
  • Establish relationships across the business to enable customer and team success.
  • Keep the SA team ahead of the technical curve and ensure continuous learning to provide comprehensive solutions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience building and leading technical pre- (or post-) sales teams (hiring, on-boarding, enabling).
  • 5+ years in the data space with a technical product (data warehousing, big data, ML, or generative AI) OR 5+ years in mission-focused space impacting IC/DoW from a technology perspective.
  • Trusted advisor to technical executives guiding strategic data infrastructure decisions.
  • Experience leading technical qualification, validations, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
  • Strategic mindset focused on driving customer outcomes.
  • Experience hiring, ramping, and promoting talent to larger roles.
  • Ability to foster positive morale and cross-functional collaboration (Field Eng, Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success).
  • Technical and business skills to earn trust of Engineering leadership at Databricks.
  • Demonstrated architectural influence guiding scalable solutions.
