About the role

Neko is redefining prevention by delivering data-driven, preventative care through an internal AI developer platform. This role leads the architecture, buildout, and rollout of the platform, enabling AI-assisted workflows and widespread engineer adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, build and rollout of Neko's internal AI developer platform
  • Set long-term direction for AI agents, tooling and the systems underneath them
  • Perform hands-on technical leadership while doing the work
  • Deliver architectural direction in the first 6 months and ship initial components adopted by early teams
  • Achieve measurable improvements to developer speed, reliability and autonomy
  • Drive genuine organic adoption across engineering driven by value
  • Shift toward agentic, engineer-led development workflows by month 12
  • Scale the platform beyond pilot groups to multiple teams
  • Define clear ownership models for agents, tooling and supporting systems
  • Define long-term architecture moving toward maturity

Qualifications

  • Proven experience building and shipping an internal developer platform, hands-on
  • Strong track record leading agentic or AI-assisted development work used day-to-day by engineers
  • Real backend engineering depth with production systems, recent Java or C# strongly preferred
  • Experience rolling out platform tooling to 20-30+ developers with meaningful adoption
  • Expertise with workflow engines such as AWS Step Functions, Azure Durable Functions, Temporal, Conductor or Dagster
  • Ability to drive change through influence and credibility, not positional authority
  • 10-15+ years of engineering experience with substantial platform ownership
