About the role

Responsible for building scalable, reliable, and performant distributed systems for Chroma's data plane, supporting AI applications at scale.

Scaling retrieval systems including vector search, document storage, metadata filtering for large-scale workloads.
Ensuring distributed systems are reliable, scalable, and performant.
Working on the open-source Chroma data plane and powering Chroma's cloud service.
Collaborating with database, cloud platform, and product engineering teams to develop scalable data platform components.

Experience building correct, performant, and reliable distributed systems at scale.
Familiar with best practices in deploying and operating data platforms.
Substantial production experience in Rust, C++, Zig, or other system programming languages.
