About the role

Senior backend engineering leadership role focused on architecting and building scalable core backend infrastructure for Endor Labs’ SaaS products, with emphasis on reliability, performance, and shaping technical direction.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build core backend infrastructure for SaaS products.
  • Lead and contribute to large-scale technical projects ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Design, architect, and build features end-to-end in collaboration with Product Management and distributed Engineering teams.
  • Drive innovation and make critical architectural decisions, implementing cutting-edge technologies.
  • Participate in external technical forums, conferences, and open-source communities to stay at the forefront of industry trends.
  • Mentor and coach team members, promoting best practices and a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 18+ years of experience building scalable backends for product/SaaS companies
  • Strong track record of leading and delivering complex technical projects
  • Proficiency in Golang strongly preferred; experience with other modern backend languages, microservices/distributed architecture, and frameworks is a plus
  • Experience designing APIs with frameworks (gRPC preferred, REST, GraphQL, Thrift, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, communication, and leadership abilities
  • Experience with scalable distributed systems, microservices, domain-driven design, load balancing, horizontal/vertical scaling, stateless architectures
  • Architectural knowledge and data-driven approach to evaluating and proposing architectural choices
  • Ability to discuss tradeoffs and influence organizational direction
  • Comfort in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and independently in unfamiliar territory
  • Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and root-cause analysis
