About the role
Seeking a Product Safety Manager to oversee safety assessments and threat modeling for AI products, ensuring responsible development and mitigating risks in new domains.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety assessments and threat modeling for new products, with a focus on new business areas.
- Design and document safety mitigations for product risks, and partner with engineering for implementation.
- Lead red teaming efforts for products.
- Serve as safety point of contact, raising risks early and updating assessments.
- Stay current on AI safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Support broader Trust & Safety team with safety questions and investigations.
- Contribute to team efforts as priorities evolve.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in product safety, trust & safety, risk assessment, or related discipline at a technology company.
- Strong understanding of content moderation systems.
- Experience conducting safety assessments or threat modeling for consumer-facing products.
- Excellent written communication skills, capable of translating complex safety issues into clear documentation.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Self-starter with initiative to improve or develop processes.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with product managers and engineers.
