About the role
Electrical Engineer role at Science, a clinical stage technology company focused on neuroscience devices. Responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining electronics for advanced medical devices, with cross-disciplinary collaboration across biology, micro-fabrication, optics, and software.
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and characterize electrical systems, generally at the PCB level, for advanced medical device applications
- Oversee the transfer of R&D projects to scalable manufacturing solutions
- Test, qualification, and failure-mode analysis on electrical systems, especially PCB-As
- Feasibility investigation and prototype of new concepts
- Clear documentation and communication of design and test work
- Interface and communication with cross-disciplinary teams, including microfabrication, software, IC design, biology, QARA, and clinical
Qualifications
- Experience in electronic system design using microcontrollers, microprocessors or FPGAs
- Skilled in PCB design using industry standard tools such as Altium, OrCAD etc
- Strong understanding of power management in robotics systems
- Familiarity with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, SDIO, etc)
- Skilled in low noise analog sensor interface design
- Adept using tools for electronic system characterization including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers etc
- Strong circuit analysis and simulation skills
- Ability to hand-solder small microelectronic components, including BGA parts and 0201 passives
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
