About the role

Software Engineer role focused on building platform-level primitives to enable resilient, scalable services. Focus areas include service provisioning, deploy tooling, workflow orchestration, and defining ownership and operation contracts for services within SpaceXAI.

Responsibilities

  • Establish durable workflow orchestration as a first-class platform: defining best practices, building shared abstractions, and creating the standard that every team uses for reliable, long-running workflows.
  • Design a declarative service configuration framework that makes provisioning, deploying, and operating new services trivial, reducing backend spin-up time from days to minutes.
  • Define the contract for service ownership: what it means to own a service, how services integrate with infrastructure abstractions, and building the service catalogue to accelerate incident resolution.

Qualifications

  • Experience building internal developer platforms, service frameworks, or infrastructure abstractions used by other engineers.
  • Extensive experience with Temporal, durable workflow engines, or similar orchestration systems; strong opinions on best practices.
  • Strong focus on developer experience with design for simplicity and correctness by default.
  • Experience with deployment tooling, CI/CD pipelines, or service mesh architectures.
  • Understanding of tradeoffs between microservice and monolith architectures and ability to guide teams on service decomposition.
