About the role

Senior technical leadership role focused on building and architecting large-scale networking infrastructure to connect Databricks’ control plane and compute plane across multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the design of large-scale connectivity platforms that form the backbone between Databricks’ control plane and compute plane.
  • Set technical direction, lead complex cross-team initiatives, and mentor senior engineers at an org-wide level.
  • Collaborate with product management, operations, and partner engineering to translate long-term business goals into durable, extensible networking systems.
  • Influence architecture and execution across teams in ambiguous problem spaces and solve multi-cloud distributed systems challenges at massive scale.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of production level experience in one of: Rust, Java, Scala, C++, or similar language
  • 10+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch
  • Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
  • Experience with cloud networking, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation languages like Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
