About the role
Commissioned notaries (1099 independent contractors) in Delaware join Filevine’s Digital Reporter Network to support Depositions by Filevine sessions. Responsibilities center on facilitating remote Zoom proceedings, ensuring transcript quality, and upholding confidentiality, with flexible remote work and hours.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Zoom sessions with professionalism and warmth.
- Troubleshoot technical issues for attendees (e.g., muted audio, screen sharing).
- Safeguard transcript quality by ensuring optimal audio conditions for the transcription software.
- Administer oaths, manage on/off-the-record moments, and handle procedural steps supporting the legal process.
- Conduct proceedings using established scripts and prompts to maintain consistency and accuracy (sample scripts provided by Filevine upon contractor request).
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain a professional presence throughout each proceeding.
Qualifications
- Active Notary Public license in the state listed in the job posting (Delaware).
- Strong internet connection and access to a quiet, professional workspace.
- Video-enabled computer with necessary software capabilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work during standard business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time, Monday–Friday).
- Familiarity with Zoom or other video conferencing software.
- Bonus: Experience in the legal industry.
