About the role

Senior Engineering Manager lead for Cloudflare Workers KV, shaping product features, improving performance, and delivering scalable distributed systems. Hybrid role with locations in Lisbon, London, or hybrid options.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of engineers to build innovative products that bring security and speed to millions of internet users
  • Shape product features and improve performance to make Workers KV the best it can be
  • Ensure the company hits ambitious engineering goals
  • Lead and inspire teams, delivering scalable distributed systems and developer-loved APIs
  • Hire, onboard, and develop engineers; provide technical leadership and management
  • Implement tools, processes, instrumentation, and resolve blockages
  • Plan, create teams, oversee execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of recent professional experience with TypeScript or Go
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or functional design
  • Deep understanding of the web and technologies such as web browsers, HTTP, JavaScript and WebAssembly
  • Experience leading a team including hiring, on-boarding, and professional development
  • Strong communications skills and ability to build a shared understanding of systems
  • Experience building distributed systems and scalable APIs
  • Comfortable leading and hiring a team that builds distributed systems
