About the role

Role bridging customer business problems with Databricks solutions, acting as the product manager for field engagements and owning the non-technical lifecycle of Front Deployed Engineering (FDE) engagements from discovery to successful landing.

Responsibilities

  • C-Suite Scoping & Value Definition: Partner with Sales to perform deep discovery, map the customer's organization, quantify the business value ($10M+ problems), and define the pilot (MVP, success criteria, timeline).
  • End-to-End Product Ownership: Author the PRD, prioritize the engineering backlog, manage scope, and conduct hands-on QA testing.
  • Agile Project Execution & Delivery: Drive the FDE build team via an agile process, manage stakeholder communications from the C-suite to engineers, act as escalation manager to unblock issues.
  • Solution Launch & Landing: Own Day 0 launch, manage the war room, drive adoption, capture feedback, iterate, and prove business value.
  • Strategic Handoff & Growth: Scope ongoing maintenance, create customer docs/training, and identify next high-value FDE engagements.

Qualifications

  • Executive Presence & Communication: Trusted Advisor with C-suite gravitas and superb communication skills; able to drive decisions quickly.
  • Product & Strategy Mindset: Product Thinker and Systems Thinker capable of SWOT, competitive analysis, and defining what to build and why.
  • Relentless Execution: Hands-on execution mindset; capable of escalation and completing unglamorous work to finish projects.
  • Ideal Experience: 2+ years as Deployment Strategist or 2+ years at a high-growth startup in a builder/founder role; or 5+ years in a senior, client-facing product/delivery role at a top-tier tech company or consultancy.
  • Proven Skills: Value-based scoping (TCO/ROI), managing agile software projects, writing PRDs, willing to travel up to 50%.
