Assistant Store Manager at Sur La Table in Oklahoma City, OK, supporting a high-performing retail team and delivering best-in-center service to inspire customers throughout their culinary experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of a high-performing team to meet business needs of culinary and retail.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to ensure team members deliver outstanding customer experience.
  • Assist in development plans to support individual and team growth.
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
  • Maintains product expertise and engages in training and self-directed learning.
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and address customer concerns promptly.
  • Partners with the General/Store Manager to develop and implement strategies for merchandising, marketing, and customer engagement to exceed sales and financial goals.
  • Analyze daily performance metrics and drive results through team follow-ups to ensure execution.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals and contribute to overall store revenue.
  • Assist with daily store operations and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize shrink, and ensure proper product merchandising.
  • Ensure store safety and cleanliness and promptly address maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of associate records (time and attendance, certifications, personal information).
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws and accurately record time worked.
  • Model and communicate SLT policies and SOPs to associates.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
  • 1-2 years of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and motivating high performing sales teams while meeting operational goals.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to inspire, develop, and retain a high performing team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.
