About the role

Design Engineer role to define modern design-to-code at OnePay, generating production-ready components, leveraging AI-assisted tooling, and rethinking handoff between design and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Generate production-ready components directly from design
  • Use AI coding tools aggressively to accelerate delivery
  • Push the team beyond traditional spec-based handoff
  • Translate fluently between design and engineering languages
  • Ensure precise implementation with attention to visual and token-level details
  • Shape and improve design-to-code processes and workflows as the team ships

Qualifications

  • Fluency in both Figma and code (React Native or React)
  • Active use of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, v0, or similar) at production velocity
  • Fluency in design tokens, component architecture, and how design systems map to code
  • Experience shipping on cross-functional teams with design and engineering overlap
  • Strong communication across both disciplines
  • Track record of operating in fluid environments and helping define how teams work
