About the role

Leadership role in Databricks' Field Engineering team focusing on the Financial Services Industry, combining people management with strategic technical leadership to drive pre-sales engagement, customer success, and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, grow and manage a team of Solutions Architects for the Commercial and Enterprise segment.
  • Make customers extremely successful with Databricks and provide outsized value to their businesses.
  • Maintain a robust hiring pipeline at all times.
  • Establish relationships across the business to make customers and team successful.
  • Partner with sales leadership to hit sales and consumption targets and ensure customer success
  • Keep the SA team ahead of the technical curve and ensure continuous learning to provide comprehensive solutions for customer needs

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building and leading technical pre-sales teams - hiring, onboarding, and enabling pre- and post-sales professionals
  • 7+ years of experience in the data space with a technical product (data warehousing, big data, or machine learning)
  • Deep technical understanding of the impact Data & AI can drive within various industry segments
  • Trusted advisor to technical executives for strategic data infrastructure decisions
  • Experience leading best practices for technical qualification, proofs of concepts, architecture discussions, and product demonstrations
  • Experience hiring, ramping, and promoting candidates
  • Ability to foster positive morale and cross-team collaboration (Field Engineering, Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success)
  • Technical credibility to earn trust of engineering talent and leadership at Databricks
  • Demonstrated architectural influence in guiding scalable solutions
