About the role

Store Floor Lead in a leadership role supporting the General Manager/Store Manager, acting as Manager on Duty to drive sales, operations, and an exceptional in-store customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty (MOD).
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement. Communicate performance issues to GM/Store Manager.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates.
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and loyalty.
  • Stay current on products, engage in training, and seek additional resources.
  • Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and address customer concerns promptly.
  • Support achievement of store sales goals through customer engagement and team motivation.
  • Identify customer needs and offer relevant solutions to maximize selling opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals and contribute to store revenue (KPIs: individual sales, avg transaction value, conversion rates).
  • Direct employees to maintain appropriate stock levels and proper merchandising per visual standards.
  • Complete inventory transactions (receiving, MOS, RARs).
  • Adhere to wage and hour laws; accurately record time per policy.
  • Communicate and enforce company SOPs and policies to associates.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 1 year of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and retain a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Passion for community engagement and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems (preferred).
