About the role

Senior Software Engineer role on the Cloudflare Hyperdrive team, building global database access and edge caching technologies to accelerate queries from Cloudflare Workers with a focus on low-latency, distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • You will own your code from inception to release, delivering solutions at all layers of the software stack to empower Cloudflare customers.
  • On any given day, you might write a design document that outlines how you plan to solve a specific problem, or fix a bug in how our user experience renders.
  • Hyperdrive features include: Global Connection Pooling, Intelligent Query Caching, Protocol-Aware Proxying, Seamless Integration.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience with Rust, Go, or C++
  • Comfort with the Linux networking stack (TCP/IP, TLS, WebSockets)
  • Understanding of how databases work (connection lifecycles, transaction states, wire protocols)
  • Experience debugging complex, distributed systems and building for high reliability (five nines)
