About the role

Product Manager to build software, AI, and data layer powering Primer's operations, focusing on scalable school operations and improving educator efficiency in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Operations product portfolio, from strategy and discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration. Spend time with campus leaders, market teams, educators, and central operators to understand where work breaks down, then partner with Design and Engineering to solve it.
  • Run time studies on campus and obsess over the 30 seconds tech can hand back to a teacher.
  • Form a point of view quickly, make tradeoffs with imperfect information, and keep things moving as you learn.
  • Answer questions like: How do we operate 10x more schools with only 2x the operational headcount? When does a campus need support before it escalates? How can AI reduce repetitive work while strengthening human judgment? How to make school operations lighter, clearer, and more consistent.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience building products for complex, physical workflows.
  • Strong ownership. Ability to take ambiguous problems, identify what matters, decide, and drive adoption and impact.
  • Resourceful and creative; can progress with scrappy learning and without a large team.
  • Comfort in messy, real-world environments; enjoys observing operators and identifying bottlenecks.
  • Analytical enough to reason from data and practical enough to rely on field evidence.
  • Strong opinions, loosely held; defend viewpoints but willing to change with new facts.
  • Clear writing and structured thinking.
  • Excited to work on-site in San Francisco.
