About the role

Schemas is the layer where customers model their data, a codeless configuration system powering Benchling applications. This role owns the foundation that the rest of the product and other teams build on, focusing on platform primitives, data versioning, constraints, and stable, scalable data structures for the R&D lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product management for our Schemas team.
  • Engage with customers, internal teams, and Benchling fields teams to understand problems-to-solve and use cases.
  • Set the vision for Schemas to accelerate development amongst internal development teams.
  • Empower scientists, admins, and computational teams to turn their data into an AI-ready structured data foundation for the entire R&D lifecycle.
  • Prototyping and incremental shipping to deliver value while delivering stable features for admins and developers.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Design to develop new product capabilities.
  • Partner with Customer Experience, Marketing, and Sales.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of product management experience
  • Ability to think in systems; understand customer needs and impact on the product
  • Demonstrated long-term vision with incremental delivery
  • Experience providing technical solutions to internal developers and external customers
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to customers and executive leadership
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or Developer Platform industries preferred
  • Demonstrated experience setting direction and influencing stakeholders
  • Strong curiosity about science processes powering the R&D lifecycle
  • Past experience working with data modeling or databases required
