About the role

Mercury is hiring backend and full-stack engineers to join product engineering teams focused on delivering lovable fintech experiences for startups. The role emphasizes product ownership, autonomous collaboration, and close partnership with designers and product leaders within one of Mercury’s product groups (Banking, Everyday Experiences, Expansion, Risk).

Responsibilities

  • Feel a strong sense of product ownership and actively seek responsibility – self-organize on small/medium projects and help shape Mercury’s future.
  • Work in an autonomous environment on a close-knit team, with a “startup within a startup” feel.
  • Partner closely with designers and product leaders to ship lovable experiences and transcend the status quo for banking and fintech software.
  • Join a small but mighty team of experienced product engineers within one of Mercury’s product groups (Banking, Everyday Experiences, Expansion, Risk).

Qualifications

  • Has 1-4 years of backend or full-stack development experience, with knowledge of or excitement to learn Haskell, React, TypeScript, and Redux.
  • Is passionately product-minded and has experience building and shipping new products.
  • Empathizes with users and can channel their perspective to build lovable products.
  • Can balance tradeoffs and find creative solutions to accomplish goals.
  • Actively incorporates AI tools into their workflow and is excited about leveraging them to accelerate development, improve code quality, or solve hard problems.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with peers and cross-functional counterparts.
