About the role

Senior Engineering Manager overseeing the Threat Application Services team within Cloudforce One, responsible for the Threat Events platform, external Threat Intel APIs, and backend IOC integration for automated mitigation in Cloudflare’s security stack.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural direction and operational excellence for services owned by the team (Threat Events platform, Threat Intel APIs, IOC ingestion and distribution).
  • Drive professional development of direct reports and collaborate with product managers and security researchers to turn threat data into automated customer experiences.
  • Build and scale distributed security platforms with a focus on latency and reliability for Enterprise security operations.
  • Manage the transition from delivering features to building world-class, reliable products in a high-growth environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Software Development experience, with a focus on Go, JavaScript, or distributed systems.
  • Led high-performing engineering teams for over 8 years, responsible for architectural direction and operational excellence of large-scale distributed security platforms (e.g., Threat Intel APIs, automated mitigation systems).
  • Proven ability to manage technical debt, drive professional development through mentorship, and deliver predictable, high-quality products in a high-growth environment.
  • Understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain and how to automate ingestion and distribution of IOCs (IPs, domains, hashes, JA3/4 fingerprints).
  • Experience with edge computing (e.g., Workers), SQL-at-the-edge (D1/SQLite), and systems that scale to trillions of signals.
  • Experience building high-performance APIs or platforms for threat intelligence, security operations, or large-scale data analytics.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic AI workflows.
  • Strong mentorship and coaching skills for engineers in a security domain.
