About the role

Full-stack engineer to ship high-leverage product and growth improvements across backend and frontend at Pocket.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end projects: instrumentation → backend services → web/app UI → rollout & iteration.
  • Build and iterate on user-facing product features (activation, retention, paid conversion, core UX).
  • Design, implement, and scale backend systems: APIs, data models, pipelines, jobs, reliability.
  • Improve frontend surfaces where it matters (web product, internal tools, landing pages, onboarding flows).
  • Drive experiments: set hypotheses, ship fast, measure results, and harden what works.
  • Work closely with design, product, marketing, and support - and help unblock them with code.

Qualifications

  • 6–10+ years of experience shipping production software (startup pace preferred).
  • Strong backend fundamentals (APIs, DBs, async jobs, caching, performance, reliability).
  • Can comfortably ship frontend changes (React/TypeScript or similar).
  • Care deeply about product outcomes and can translate ambiguity into shipped work.
