About the role

Product Engineer focused on building Granola’s desktop transcription features, working closely with users and the founding team to scale the product and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own and build transcription features end-to-end. Audio capture on macOS and Windows; Echo cancellation; Connections to transcription providers/models; Local transcription models; Diarisation/attribution; Transcription UI/UX on desktop app; Logging and evals to measure progress.
  • Interact with users to understand problems and design solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers, and other team members to create a cutting-edge product
  • Optimise the application for speed, scale, and reliability
  • Feel transcription papercuts by using Granola for meetings

Qualifications

  • Experience with audio capture, real-time media pipelines
  • Engineering experience at tech and product-driven companies
  • Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, and React, ideally Electron
  • Comfortable dropping into native code and OS audio APIs (CoreAudio, WASAPI, …) when needed
  • Experience with speech-to-text models/providers
