About the role
Role focused on owning Prox video output to tell authentic, field-focused stories of manufacturers, technicians, founders, and customers. Lead shoot planning, production, editing, and creative direction to establish a recognizable Prox video language and support sales, recruiting, and product storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Own video at Prox: customer documentaries, field interviews with technicians, conference footage, founder/lifestyle content, product demos, and social edits
- Direct shoots outside the office (customer sites, dealer floors, service desks, trade shows, field calls, technician interviews)
- Film customer deployments, technician interviews, conferences, and founder moments; capture the honest startup moment
- Edit fast: same-day rough cuts, 24-48 hour social edits, clean final cuts
- Develop and maintain a house video style for Prox; define pacing, color, music, titles, thumbnails, and editing taste
- Plan shoots (turn visits and events into clear shoot plans without overproducing)
- Operate camera, lighting, sound, and interview setups; run-and-gun conference footage and product captures
- Direct non-actors to speak naturally and capture honest moments
- Edit polished short-form and mid-form videos for LinkedIn, website, emails, sales follow-ups, hiring, and investor/customer updates
- Package content: hooks, captions, subtitles, thumbnails, cutdowns, exports, and versioned assets
- Maintain asset management: organized footage, archive, labels, reusable b-roll, project files, and searchable clips
- Iterate content through feedback with founders, GTM, customer teams, and deployment personnel
- Demonstrate high agency to capture meaningful moments during visits, conferences, or founder moments
- Aim for a recognizable, real, sharp, technical, human video style that is not overproduced
Qualifications

- documentary instincts for storytelling in various contexts (customer visits, interviews, events, office sessions)
- good taste avoiding SaaS explainer or generic startup content
- comfort directing founders, customers, technicians, dealers, and conference attendees
- fast turnaround capability (same-day rough cuts; 24-48 hour social edits)
- field-ready: able to travel and film in imperfect environments; handle gear and noise issues
- product curiosity about how physical products work and how AI tools impact field work
- operationally clean with organized files, versions, drives, transcripts, exports
