About the role

Senior design leader responsible for design across HighLevel's core platform, native mobile experiences, and design system. Leads a team of ~8 product designers across the US and India, with line management of the design system team and partnership with the Senior Director to elevate design system strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Team leadership and management: Manage, coach and develop approximately 8 product designers across US and India teams; set expectations; hire and onboard; performance manage; build a culture of speed, ownership, craft and impact.
  • Craft, aesthetic quality and product excellence: Raise the bar for design output; lead critiques and quality reviews; ensure releases are grounded in user needs and refined visual/aesthetic execution; encourage responsible use of AI-assisted tools.
  • Core platform and mobile design leadership: Lead design execution across core platform experiences and native mobile surfaces; collaborate with Product and Engineering on priorities and roadmaps; ensure cohesive experience across desktop, mobile and platform surfaces.
  • Design system leadership: Line manage the design system team; evolve design system strategy, governance and adoption; drive horizontal adoption of shared components and patterns; reduce pattern drift.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and business impact: Build partnerships with Product, Engineering, Data, Support and Customer Success; represent design in planning and delivery conversations; operate effectively across time zones (US and India).

Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience in product design, UX or related disciplines; 3+ years managing product designers
  • Proven experience managing designers across complex B2B SaaS, platform, mobile or multi-product environments
  • Exceptional aesthetic judgment, visual craft and interaction design taste; ability to elevate team quality
  • Experience leading critiques, coaching designers and helping teams make strong design decisions
  • Experience leading or line managing design system work across product teams
  • Experience managing distributed teams across time zones; India-based collaboration is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop talent and perform management with clear development plans
  • Strong product judgment balancing user needs, business outcomes, technical constraints and speed
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and willingness to adopt thoughtfully
  • Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with high ownership expectations
