About the role

Contract Growth Manager to establish structure and standards for Stepful’s student communications across squads, optimizing Customer.io workflows and building an end-to-end communications operating model.

Responsibilities

  • Map the student communications journey from enrollment through graduation.
  • Audit active campaigns, segments, triggers, and templates in Customer.io; retire outdated workflows; establish naming and tagging conventions; document ownership.
  • Build a multi-squad communications operating model with intake, QA, review standards, and cross-team visibility.
  • Establish communications strategy and style guidelines, including voice, tone, structures for email and SMS, and guidance on channel selection.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, or similar lifecycle automation platform.
  • Experience auditing, reorganizing, and improving campaigns, workflows, segments, and triggers.
  • Experience with lifecycle communications tied to retention, engagement, completion, or similar outcomes— especially for long usage products.
  • Strong writing judgment; ability to create voice and messaging standards.
  • Comfort introducing structure and shared processes across cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Ability to operate independently and leave behind documentation and systems.
