About the role

Experienced Staff Engineer to join Zus Platform team, building core data services to process, store, and deliver health records at scale with low latency and high availability. Work on data services, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and pipelines using AWS services and various data storage technologies. Go as primary language, with opportunities to influence architecture and collaborate across product and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers and internal users to ensure platform meets customer needs
  • Collaborate with team members across Engineering to prototype and develop new functionality
  • Provide technical leadership, contributing to architecture and design of systems
  • Build and operate data services driving applications and APIs
  • Coach others to become better engineers

Qualifications

  • Learn fast and enjoy open-ended technical challenges
  • Interest in business problems of customers
  • Experience with operationally stable, scalable, and cost-efficient data services
  • Enjoy owning work and deploying it safely to production
  • Proficiency in backend services in Go
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
  • Experience with deployment technologies (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.), cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Excited to enable digital healthcare revolution
  • Thrive in a growing startup environment
  • Collaborative problem-solver
  • Hybrid in Boston metro or remote (EST/CST) with occasional travel for in-person collaboration
