About the role

Product-minded Full Stack Engineer role in a fast-paced AI-first startup, building scalable core product infrastructure and tools, with ownership and opportunities to influence product direction.

Responsibilities

  • Work within our Core Engineering team to develop and expand our product suite, from our Enterprise grade Automat Studio, to our state of the art Agentic Workflow Builder and beyond
  • Build interfaces which leverage cutting-edge computer use models to automate and accelerate real world Enterprise workflows across finance, banking, healthcare, e-commerce, and more
  • Collaborate with our Forward Deployed Team to understand how customers interact with Automat’s platform today, and use those learnings to bolster our Agentic Workflow Builder and Developer Toolkit
  • Develop beautiful and intuitive UX interfaces which abstract away complex business automation processes and create a seamless experience for non-technical users and engineers alike
  • Create robust, enterprise grade back-end infrastructure and services to power our Fortune 500 customers' workflows at scale
  • Influence our engineering practices, shape product direction, and contribute to building a world class company culture.

Qualifications

  • Clear communication — you ask good questions, share progress early, and handle feedback well
  • Comfort with ambiguity (with support) — you can take a loosely defined problem, propose a plan, and iterate toward a solution
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, etc.) and a habit of validating results
  • Strong UX instincts — you care about speed, clarity, and making things intuitive
  • High initiative — you don’t wait to be told what to do; you find the next useful step and take it
  • Ownership mindset — you leave code cleaner than you found it and follow issues through to completion
  • Startup curiosity — you’re excited by fast-paced environments, learning by doing, and shipping frequently
  • Fullstack fundamentals — shipped production features across frontend + backend, APIs, databases, auth, and deployment
  • Modern web stack experience — comfortable with Next.js; eager to learn Supabase and Vercel
  • AI as a multiplier — leverage tools to scaffold, debug, and iterate while maintaining good engineering practices
