About the role

Founding Design Engineer to own the craft of the product experience for back-office users in private markets, blending UI/UX with production code, owning the design system, and working at the intersection of design and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Own the craft and interaction quality of the product end to end, holding the line on detail and polish in a dense domain (fund accounting, treasury operations).
  • Design and build interaction patterns for workflows where humans and AI agents work side by side, including real-time review, correction, and trust-building for agent outputs.
  • Own the design system and tooling around it: components, patterns, documentation, and best practices for other engineers.
  • Prototype rapidly in code, shipping working software to test ideas with users and stakeholders.
  • Make final calls on product taste and interaction design in owned areas, building trusted judgment and context.
  • Collaborate with product, ops, and engineering to translate complex financial workflows into simple interfaces.
  • Work directly with customers and internal ops teams to observe workflows and shape design decisions.
  • Balance speed and quality in a fast-evolving product surface, knowing when to move fast and when to lay a strong foundation.

Qualifications

  • Currently hands-on, shipping user-facing product code today (not managing from a distance).
  • Exceptional taste with interaction design and craft as differentiators.
  • Strong full-stack fluency, comfortable owning a feature from database to UI, with frontend strength.
  • Experience with genuinely complex UI/UX: dense data, multi-step workflows, edge cases.
