About the role

Internship focused on turning messy, real-world data into reliable foundations for research and trading. Learn to write Python, SQL, and OCaml; work with structured and unstructured data; develop data ingestion, transformation, and quality monitoring pipelines; mentored by full-time Data Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Write code to ingest and transform data and to monitor its quality.
  • Work on two real projects involving unfamiliar datasets; identify data contents, resolve inconsistencies, and explain findings.
  • Ingest and transform data using Python, SQL, and OCaml; utilize open-source tools and proprietary software.
  • Learn from mentors and data users to understand business context.

Qualifications

  • Curious about what data means and how to manipulate it.
  • Comfortable manipulating data in Python, SQL, R, or similar; able to turn ideas into working code.
  • Analytical and logical thinker who investigates new topics, asks good questions, and draws conclusions.
  • Humble and eager to learn; asks questions and admits mistakes.
  • Courteous, reliable, and organized; clear verbal and written communicator.
