Responsibilities

  • Work closely with full-time machine learning researchers on projects drawn from their own work
  • Conduct end-to-end studies of datasets, try new modeling paradigms, or explore blue-sky approaches
  • Dive into market data, tune hyperparameters, debug training issues, and analyze model predictions
  • Participate in challenging classes and activities to learn how Jane Street thinks about markets

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate, PhD student, or postdoc with practical experience working on ML problems
  • Interested in applying logical and mathematical thinking to a variety of problems
  • Curious about the machine learning landscape and state-of-the-art techniques across domains
  • Fluent with a versatile set of models and tricks
  • Able to rapidly implement and iterate on ideas in Python and ML frameworks
  • Eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and learn new things
