About the role
IT Security Engineer with strong Windows engineering background to secure Jane Street’s IT platforms, providing hands-on technical work, consultancy, and security influence across IT platforms.
Responsibilities
- Proactively proposing, designing, testing, implementing, and documenting strategic security controls
- Coordinating and delivering security solutions across our IT platforms while identifying opportunities to further automate intelligent workflows
- Building security controls that scale, investigating emerging threats, developing new security tooling, and driving vulnerability management initiatives
Qualifications
- Proficient in securing Windows OS platforms and resolving complex technical issues in a fast-moving environment
- Hands-on experience utilizing integrated security technologies for safeguarding Windows operating systems (application control, host-based firewalls, auditing and event monitoring, disk encryption)
- Administration of endpoint security and vulnerability management solutions (antivirus, anti-malware, EDR, vulnerability scanning, patch management)
- Knowledge of security best practices (OS hardening, privileged access management, vulnerability mitigation)
- Understanding of common TTPs and countermeasures
- Well-versed in Windows core infrastructure services (AD/EntraID, PKI)
- Interest in automation to produce scalable security practices
- Understanding of security tooling and APIs
- Collaborative and reliable work approach
- Scripting ability in PowerShell or other languages preferred

Benefits
- Base salary is $175,000 - $250,000. Base salary is part of total compensation including discretionary bonus.
