About the role

We’re seeking an IT Operations Engineer to support, configure, and maintain multiple systems across all of our technology stacks, including desktop environments, network infrastructure, and various application platforms. The role focuses on troubleshooting, building and configuring Windows, Linux, and macOS devices and servers, supporting Windows domain infrastructure, monitoring critical systems, and driving automation to simplify operations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to tech support requests and troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Build and configure Windows, Linux, and macOS laptops, desktops, and servers
  • Support our Windows domain infrastructure
  • Monitor critical systems and alerts
  • Collaborate with specialized teams to maintain and improve IT infrastructure
  • Work on projects to optimize workflows and enable scalable operations using automation tools (e.g., PowerShell)
  • Occasionally perform physical work and lift equipment up to 40 lbs

Qualifications

  • Passion for helping people and solving technical problems
  • Solid foundation in information technology and networking principles
  • Technical expertise in networking, programming, or system administration
  • Knowledge and training in Windows Desktop/Server Operating Systems and best practices in a production environment
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and other common Windows administration sub-systems
  • Clear, concise, and empathetic verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication for technical documentation and knowledge base maintenance
  • Flexibility to work occasional evening or weekend hours
  • Familiarity with either Linux or macOS operating systems (bonus)
  • Technical strength in programming or scripting for Windows (PowerShell) or Linux (Bash) (bonus)

Benefits

  • Base salary is $100,000 - $150,000. Base salary is only one part of Jane Street total compensation, which includes an annual discretionary bonus.
