About the role

Experienced Facilities Operations Engineer to operate and maintain Jane Street's physical infrastructure, including trading floors, amenity spaces, and food service areas, and to manage projects and vendor relationships to ensure 24/7 critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects covering all aspects of physical infrastructure
  • Oversee relationships with internal departments, external vendors, contractors, consultants and operations teams
  • Ensure vendor performance meets agreed-upon delivery standards via facilities maintenance SLAs
  • Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and IT equipment supporting trading floors and facilities
  • Respond to critical infrastructure incidents and participate in on-call rotations as needed
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, 24/7 facilities operations
  • Communicate issues clearly to diverse stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance and operation in corporate real estate, trading floors, or similar 24/7 environments
  • Familiarity with MEP equipment (plant infrastructure, CRACs, UPSs, office HVAC, generators, fire prevention and building management systems)
  • Strong computer skills; comfortable in IT-centric environments and with control systems
  • Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to describe problems concisely
  • Ability to solve small problems in the field without a tradesperson
  • Willingness to be on-call for nights and weekends to respond to emergencies
  • Creative, collaborative, and proactive team player with initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized in evolving environments
  • Fluent in English; Cantonese and Mandarin a plus
