About the role

Experienced facilities operations engineer to operate and maintain Jane Street's physical infrastructure, including trading floors, amenity spaces, and food service areas, with 24/7 availability and collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects covering all aspects of physical infrastructure and relationships with internal departments, external vendors, contractors, consultants, and operations teams to provide 24/7 critical infrastructure.
  • Oversee maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and building services systems within mission-critical environments.
  • Ensure facilities maintenance SLAs meet industry standards and service-level expectations.
  • Operate in an IT-centric environment, coordinating with technical teams and learning new control systems as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for nights and weekends to promptly respond to critical system emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Professionally trained in electrical, mechanical or building services engineering, or equivalent facilities management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience on maintenance and operation teams in data centres, trading floors, or similar 24/7 environments.
  • Familiarity with MEP disciplines including plant infrastructure, CRACs, UPSs, office HVAC, generators, fire prevention, and building management systems.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with IT-focused personnel; ability to learn new software and control systems.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to describe problems concisely.
  • Ability to solve small on-site problems without tradespersons.
  • On-call availability for nights and weekends; ability to prioritize and stay organized in evolving environments.
  • English fluency; Cantonese and Mandarin a plus.
