About the role

Hands-on Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen the security posture of applications, data, infrastructure, and processes. Combines technical vulnerability work with collaboration across teams to analyze design decisions, build security into applications, and translate security principles into architectural improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen security posture of applications, data, infrastructure, and processes.
  • Uncover and remediate vulnerabilities hands-on.
  • Partner with various teams to analyze security implications of design decisions and build security into applications from the ground up.
  • Leverage offensive security background to identify threats and develop tailored security solutions.
  • Develop practical threat modeling skills and translate security principles into concrete architectural improvements.
  • Engage with system owners to identify and resolve vulnerabilities while balancing security controls with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with a skilled team of programmers and security experts across software engineering, DevOps, risk analysis, security governance, and cyber awareness.

Qualifications

  • Offensive security background
  • Ability to build and implement secure solutions from ground up
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills (whiteboard and hands-on)
  • Skilled at evaluating security tradeoffs and making risk-based decisions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to build relationships
  • Ability to teach others and transfer knowledge about threat modeling
  • Strong Linux experience; proficient in scripting
  • Accountability and ability to document decision-making rationale
  • Proficiency in any programming language (a plus)
  • English fluency
