About the role

Skilled analysts to join Jane Street's Finance group to manage capital, constrain optimization, and support growth through modeling, monitoring, and infrastructure for funding, margin, and cost allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the firm’s capital usage and cost allocation systems, including triaging, escalating, and actioning alerts
  • Translating qualitative recommendations into system configuration and parameter changes
  • Reconciling internal and external margin and billing models, including liaising with external counterparts
  • Executing various funding and financing trades - such as FX balance management, equity position financing, and funding treasuries
  • Operating firm-wide position management systems that shape our book based on various costs and constraints
  • Maintaining and improving desk infrastructure by automating workflows, building new monitoring and visualization tools, and supporting ad-hoc requests from the team
  • Identifying material financing cost inefficiencies and establishing mechanisms to optimize them going forward
  • Grow over time by independently making high-value, time-sensitive decisions and designing long-term improvements

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional experience in a quantitative or technical role
  • Interest in day-to-day processes and real-time monitoring
  • Proactive, organized, and thorough with keen attention to detail
  • Able to learn quickly, follow policies and procedures, and exercise good judgment under pressure
  • Comfortable with data analysis; familiar with basic programming techniques; willingness to learn Python and SQL and to develop AI-assisted processes
  • Numerate with a quantitative approach to decision-making
  • Curious, eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and continuously improve
  • Strong verbal and written communication; comfortable building relationships with external partners
  • Fluent in English
  • Note: may require FCA approval and registration exams/qualifications upon starting
