About the role

Cybersecurity Engineer role in Hong Kong or Singapore focusing on monitoring, incident response, detection improvements, automation, and threat hunting to protect Jane Street’s employees, data, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and use monitoring tools to guard the firm, as well as handling incident response and remediation when a threat is found
  • Apply a methodical approach to performing unstructured investigations to locate and repair the source of a security issue
  • Spend time on projects to improve detection capabilities, automation and efficiencies, as well as performing threat hunts
  • Act as an ambassador of best practices to the rest of the firm and educate others on cybersecurity hygiene

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or equivalent experience preferred
  • An avid follower of cybersecurity news
  • Strong scripter with ability to write clear, general scripts that could be integrated into existing tooling using a fully featured programming language
  • Comfortable with version control and proficient with at least one editor
  • Familiar with threat modelling and able to communicate trade-offs to internal stakeholders
  • Ability to explain cybersecurity decisions and approach to decisions
  • Ability to adapt to changing scenarios and make challenging decisions under pressure
  • Humble, curious problem solver with collaborative attitude
  • Programming experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English
