About the role

Production Engineers are software developers who split time between OCaml software development and a production support rotation, solving real-time issues in Jane Street’s trading systems and owning the architecture and tools that monitor and support the firm’s systems.

Responsibilities

  • Split time between OCaml software development project work and a support rotation to resolve live issues in Jane Street’s critical systems
  • Collaborate with various software teams and application developers to create and run high-quality software systems
  • Design and develop tools used to monitor and support the firm’s trading infrastructure
  • Own the architecture and design of systems that monitor and support the firm’s trading activities
  • Communicate effectively during production incidents and provide clear, calm guidance

Qualifications

  • Strong programming ability and love for technology
  • Intellectually curious, motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn
  • Excellent communicator, able to stay clear and calm during production incidents
  • Fluent in English
