About the role

Technical Program Manager who provides organization and coordination support for engineering initiatives, working closely with engineers to plan, execute, and monitor projects within Jane Street’s trading technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through their entire lifecycle: define goals, develop timelines, track milestones, manage developer time, identify risks, and coordinate with related teams.
  • Communicate project schedules, priorities, and status updates to the wider organization.
  • Collaborate across developers, business teams, operations, support, and external financial entities to ensure on-time delivery and goal attainment.
  • Think strategically to solve problems and improve processes/tools within a flexible, problem-solving environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or another technical field preferred (candidates with industry experience also considered).
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • Experience managing software development projects.
  • Experience with project management planning tools (e.g., Jira, spreadsheets).
  • Ability to describe detailed problems with brevity and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
