About the role

We are seeking a highly-driven Technical Programme Manager to provide organization and coordination support for engineering initiatives within Jane Street’s technology group, collaborating with developers, operations, and external counterparties to deliver projects on time and to specification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through their entire lifecycle including defining goals, developing timelines, tracking milestones, managing developer time, identifying risks, and coordinating with related teams
  • Communicate project schedules, priorities, and status updates to the larger organization
  • Collaborate across developers, business teams, operations, support, external counterparties, regulators, and clients to ensure on-time delivery and meeting/exceeding goals and expectations
  • Think strategically to optimize processes and tools for projects within a flexible problem-solving environment
  • Operate within Jane Street’s technology group to design, deploy, and support infrastructure underpinning trading activities
  • Adapt to varying roles and responsibilities (Programme Manager to Product Manager) depending on team and circumstance
  • Work independently on small teams, learn quickly, and make impactful decisions
  • Engage in cross-team collaboration to improve engineering initiatives and trading technology

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or other technical field preferred (open to_equivalent industry experience)
  • Experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience managing software development projects
  • Experience with project management planning tools (e.g., Jira, spreadsheets)
  • Ability to describe detailed problems with brevity and accuracy
  • Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Fluency in English
