About the role

SPs are versatile generalists who take a deeply analytical and strategic approach to solving Jane Street’s most pressing problems. They move across groups as firm priorities evolve, developing a holistic view of our business and driving cross-functional growth. The rotations help new SPs develop a broadened skill set and a detailed understanding of how all parts of the business fit together.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate across groups during a year-long program across trading, technology, finance, compliance, operations, and more to develop a broad skill set and cross-group connections.
  • Take ownership over strategic efforts within their team and in cross-functional initiatives.
  • Move teams throughout their career as interests and firm priorities shift, ultimately shaping the business through central strategic influence.

Qualifications

  • A track record of success in challenging, rigorous environments
  • Ability to take a structured and detailed approach to solving problems
  • Effective communication, project management, and attention to detail
  • Curiosity about a wide range of disciplines including global market dynamics, technical systems and tooling, and operational infrastructure
  • Eagerness to ask questions, admit mistakes, and deepen understanding
