Senior/Staff Platform Engineer responsible for owning the compute, orchestration, and infrastructure layer for CodeRabbit's AI engine and product suite across a multi-region GCP footprint. 0-to-1 role focused on building foundational platform capabilities, setting technical direction, and making early architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the compute, orchestration, and infrastructure layer that CodeRabbit's AI engine and products run on
  • Build the platform function from the ground up in a 0-to-1 role
  • Set the technical direction and establish patterns for the engineering team
  • Make early architectural calls with long-term impact
  • Work across a multi-region GCP footprint
  • Ensure systems are robust, scalable, and maintainable; foundational infrastructure is correct because others depend on it

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering with emphasis on building platforms
  • Deep, hands-on Kubernetes experience including control plane, operators/controllers, schedulers, runtime debugging
  • Experience building and running large-scale distributed systems with understanding of consistency vs availability
  • Strong cloud compute background on GCP or AWS, with deep understanding of underlying primitives
  • Proficiency in Docker and container runtime internals (image layering, networking modes, security contexts, build optimization)
