About the role

Quantitative Trader internship in Hong Kong focused on pairing with experienced traders, learning to identify market signals, analyze and execute strategies, build quantitative models, and gain trading intuition through mentorship, classes, workshops, and mock trading sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify market signals, analyze and execute strategies, construct quantitative models, conduct statistical analysis, and build trading intuition with mentorship
  • Work on projects related to day-to-day trading activities, including analyzing datasets, training predictive models, simulating trading strategies, and building production tools
  • Participate in intensive classes, workshops, and team-based mock trading sessions to simulate real-market dynamics
  • Possibly participate in one elective covering topics such as Machine Learning/Data Science, Algorithmic Trading/Market Microstructure, or Trading Strategy Scenarios
  • Engage with two mentors on projects to experience the variety of problems Jane Street solves

Qualifications

  • Strong quantitative thinker (no specific degree/major required)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication
  • Collaborative team player
  • Curious, eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and learn
  • Fluent in English
  • General programming experience is a plus; language-specific requirement not necessary
