About the role

Senior Engineer to build out backend third party integration systems for remittance platform; focus on reliable, performant, and secure backend services with cross-functional collaboration across Product, Operations, Customer Support, Growth, and other teams. Backend-centric role with opportunities to contribute across the stack and influence team culture and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Build out unified interface encapsulating dozens of third party payment integrations
  • Work on one of the pillar revenue centers of the organization
  • Take ownership of backend system architecture and implementation
  • Build performant and resilient data flows; keeping security in mind during every step
  • Work closely with product team to regularly ship working features
  • Work in an iterative fashion
  • Evaluate and deliver timeline estimates

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience building backend systems
  • Proficiency with Kotlin or Java / JVM
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL
  • Experience with AWS: S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, etc.
  • Experience implementing and managing elaborate integrations with third-party APIs
  • Experience working on systems that have real-world performance and reliability constraints
  • Experience developing software in a collaborative, multi-functional, and fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and ability to manage conflicting priorities, setting expectations with stakeholders and be a driving force
