About the role

Staff Forward Deployed AI Solutions Engineer working within a business domain to build, deploy, and run AI agents and automation pipelines in production, reporting to the central AI & Automation team and partnering with domain leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Map workflows in the assigned business domain (e.g., Commercial, Clinical Operations, Lab Operations, Sales & Marketing, Customer Experience) to identify opportunities for AI agents and automation that improve throughput and speed.
  • Build, deploy, and run AI-driven workflows and automation pipelines in production.
  • Stand up agents and automation pipelines using approved AI platforms and frameworks.
  • Connect agents to business systems via MCP servers, APIs, webhooks, CLIs, and skills within IT and security guardrails.
  • Configure prompts, context, and retrieval pipelines for reliable performance on real work.
  • Define target workflows and human-in-the-loop handoffs.
  • Manage agent performance end-to-end and track KPIs (throughput, quality, cost, human intervention rate, cycle time, adoption).
  • Build and manage evaluations and re-run them on model/data/workflow changes before deployment.
  • Triage failures, tune prompts and context, iterate on workflows, and retire ineffective agents.
  • Instrument observability with tracing, structured logs, and dashboards.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on technical fluency with CLIs, APIs, webhooks, SQL, and Python scripting.
  • Knowledge of LLMs and agent behavior (prompting, context, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, evals, failure modes).
  • Comfort with cloud platforms.
  • Trustworthy with elevated access, least-privilege, auditability, and safe rollbacks.
